“The Jewish people descend from the three Patriarchs – Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the Four Matriarchs – Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah. The Hebrew name for Israel, Yisrael, bears within it the acronym for every one of our spiritual forebears: Yod = Ya’akov, Yizhak; Shin = Sarah; Resh = Rachel, Rivkah; Alef = Avraham; Lamed = Leah. About Today’s Photograph
Photograph of rainbow by Eliyahu Alpern, www.tziloom.com. The rainbow symbolizes God’s first covenant with mankind, promising to remember His promise to Noah. The next Biblical covenant represents God’s eternal promise of the Land to Abraham and his descendants. “God gave the Jewish people the land of Israel by divine covenant. That covenant is a blood covenant; it is eternal and unbreakable. It cannot be amended by the United Nations or by the US State Department.” Pastor John Hagee’s “In Defense of Israel.”
